2018 was an outstanding vintage in the Yarra Valley, particularly for Pinot Noir. Our Black Label Pinot Noir is chosen from our best barrels from the vintage and only 64 dozen produced. Our Estate Label Pinot Noir 2018 won 3 gold medals, demonstrating the pedigree of this wine.

Process - 

Clone MV6

Hand-picked into 15kg baskets, cooled overnight

To build complexity, fermented in small batches, ranging from whole bunch to destemmed whole berry

21-day steady ferment until dry

Wooden basket pressed and transferred into a range of French oak barriques

Barrel aged for 10 months

Hand bottled by gravity

Unfined and infiltered with minimal sulphur added

Corked and sealed with gold wax

Nose - Dense strawberry and red fruits

Palate - Juicy, voluptuous and earthy, medium bodied, great acidity and softening tannins that linger

Food match - Mushroom risotto, a superb marriage with lamb or duck
